ADA Accessibility Guidelines for Buildings and Facilities contains scoping and technical requirements for accessibility to buildings and facilities by individuals with disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990.

Center for IT Accommodations

CESSI - Accessible Solutions CESSI provides ongoing technical and administrative support to the General Services Administration (GSA) Center for Information Technology Accommodation (CITA). CITA's mission is to support the government--wide compliance with the requirements of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.


HEATH Resource Center The HEATH Resource Center of The George Washington University, Graduate School of Education and Human Development, is the national clearinghouse on post-secondary education for individuals with disabilities. Support from the U.S.. Department of Education enables the clearinghouse to serve as an information exchange about educational support services, policies, procedures, adaptations, and opportunities at American campuses, vocational-technical schools, and other post-secondary training entities.

ICDRI the International Center for Disability Resources on the Internet. The site is a major disability portal under construction.

Northwest ADA & IT Center Provides information on the Americans with Disabilities Act and
accessible information technology in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.

Office of Civil Rights
The mission of the Office for Civil Rights is to ensure equal access to education and to promote educational excellence throughout the nation through vigorous enforcement of civil rights.

The Oregon Disabilities Commission's webpage includes information on two on-line Technical
Assistance and Information Centers. There you can access more than 1200 documents relating to people with disabilities, including documents on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), specific disabilities, technology, and many other topics.

PEPnet assists post-secondary institutions across the nation to attract and effectively serve individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing

Rehabilitation Act, Section 504, subpart E
This part of the law was designed to eliminate discrimination on the basis of handicap in any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.

Section 508 The Road to Accessibility
Using this web site, Federal employees and the public can access resources for understanding
and implementing the requirements of Section 508.

Social Security Administration

Trace Center The Trace Center is currently working on ways to make standard information technologies and telecommunications systems more accessible and usable by people with disabilities. This work is primarily funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) (U.S. Department of Education).

Vocational Rehabilitation Division
Oregon's Vocational Rehabilitation Division (VRD) provides rehabilitation services to persons with disabilities and makes eligibility decisions for disability benefits.
