Spring Classical Cuisine Dinner
The 100 Mile Meal: Eating Close to Home
May 28, 2009 ~ 6:00 p.m. - Silent Auction & Hors d'oeuvres ~ 7:00 p.m. Dinner
The Silent Auction begins at 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at which time appetizers will be served, followed by a wonderful buffet style dinner prepared by our students at 7:00. This event is entirely orchestrated by Lane's Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management students.
This casual, buffet-style dinner will showcase local food growers and producers, with an emphasis on organics and sustainability. The Culinary Arts students are working with local farms to produce a myriad of dishes made from fresh, local products. The Hospitality Management students are working to create a minimal waste, minimal impact event.
Note: There are no "tickets" for events. You will receive an email after purchase which will serve as confirmation of registration.
Cost: $30 per person or $225 per table of 8
We strive to accommodate guests with dietary restrictions and/or food allergies. If you need accommodations, please make your requests at the time reservations are placed.
Registration is now closed...stay tuned for the next one.

Classical Cuisine Dinners
Students in the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management programs will all participate in and gain practical experience in what it is like to set up reservations, supervise, prepare for, research, cook, and serve an upscale, multi-course banquet. Second-year students will create the menus and cultural themes for each dinner, as well as cook them. Each term students choose a particular theme for that term's dinner, which includes six to seven courses of gourmet dishes. A no-host wine and beer bar is available at each dinner. The spring term dinner is generally a buffet. Dinners are open to the public and are held at the Center for Meeting and Learning, Building 19, Lane Community College Main Campus. (View the main campus map and driving directions.)
Contact Denise Elder to be added to the e-mailing list to receive information. Please put "add to mailing list" in the subject line.
