February Classified Employee of the Month Frank Drengacz, middle with balloons |
In December, Frank celebrated his 6th year anniversary here as the Lead Groundskeeper for Lane's Facilities Department. Many Lane employees may know him by reading his funny and informative Wazz-Up Newsletter. Over the years Frank has been instrumental in many creative and restorative projects around our campus taking pride in presenting a beautiful image for the college. Those who nominated Frank spoke of his love for landscaping, excellence as a supervisor, and efficiency in his work. He is dedicated to using fewer chemicals in eradicating weeds, creating natural habitats, and using native plants when possible. Known for his resourcefulness, Frank often procures in-kind donations or low cost materials for his many projects. The latest project Frank coordinated was last summer's huge effort creating Lane's beautiful front entrance with the fountain and labyrinth garden. At the recent surprise meeting announcing his recognition, Frank gave a lot of credit to his team of workers, several of who spoke of him as "the nicest but hardest working supervisor they've ever had". When you see him around the grounds wearing his ever-present wide-brimmed hat, please congratulate Frank Drengacz for doing a terrific job and celebrate his nomination as February's Employee of the Month.
And remember that, you too, can help us to recognize exemplary Classified employees by nominating them for this award.
