Department faculty members, co-workers, and members
of Classified Professional Development Team joined together this morning
to surprise and honor longtime LCC employee Patty Hammons. (seated
in red) Patty, an Instructional Specialist, works in the Listening
and Testing Lab for the English, Foreign Language, and Speech Department.
Patty joined the LCC family first as a timesheet employee and then began
full-time on April 1, 1982. Nominators said such things as "Patty's
expertise helps our Listening and Critical Thinking students achieve a
90%+ skills improvement", she "gives 150% in everything she takes on",
and Patty "is one of the most efficient, diligent, and professional people
I've known". Patty's outside interests include gardening, watercolor
painting, biking, and serving as a Wellness team captain. Patty stated
she would like to thank those who nominated her for the honor and all those
who joined in the surprise presentation this morning. Hip-hip-hooray
