Steps to Enroll in Credit Classes - for Students New to Lane

Step 1: Complete the online Credit Application

• You must have an email address before completing the online application. Find out more about setting up a free email account.

Step 2: Apply for Financial Aid

• Due to the unprecedented increase in the number of financial aid applications being processed, it is taking 2-8 weeks to process aid awards once all documents have been received.  We urge you to submit your financial aid application immediately.

Step 3: Complete your Placement Testing (or get a waiver)

• Schedule testing after receiving your L number.

Step 4: Schedule a New Student Orientation, Advising & Registration (SOAR) session

• You must have completed Steps 1 and 3 before attending SOAR.
• SOAR includes academic advising and new student information.
• An optional Money Matters workshop will be offered on the same day.

Step 5: Register for Classes

• By completing SOAR, you can register earlier than other new students.
