Lane Community College will purchase and utilize recycled paper products in accordance with Oregon Administrative Rules 125-030 and OAR 137-030.

Paper products include but are not limited to copy paper, envelopes, paper towels, toilet paper, and napkins.

Recycled paper is defined as a paper product with not less than:  

    1.  Fifty percent of its fiber weight consisting of secondary waste materials; or
    2.  Twenty-five percent of its fiber weight consisting of post-consumer waste.
This policy requires the use and purchase of paper products made from recycled materials when such products satisfy applicable specifications, are available in the desired quantity within a reasonable period of time, and are priced competitively in accordance with preferential rules stated in OAR 125-030-0028.  This Administrative Rule states that a preference of 5 percent shall be applied for materials and supplies manufactured from Recycled Materials, as provided in OAR 125-030-0029, with the exception of Recycled Paper and paper products, which receive a 12 percent (12%) preference pursuant to OAR 125-030-0030(2).

In addition, Lane Community College will strive to purchase paper with the highest post-consumer content up to and including 100 percent post-consumer recycled content paper when such paper can meet the requirements stated in the above paragraph.
