Lane Weekly is the official employee newsletter of Lane Community College. It succeeds the former newsletter, The Daily. Its purpose is to provide news and information to help employees fulfill the college vision, mission, core values, and strategic directions. Employees should review each issue to stay informed of college business, policies, news, and events. Lane Weekly is published by Marketing and Public Relations. Circulation. The Weekly is published Tuesdays unless otherwise announced. It is e-mailed to the LCC Employees group in the college GroupWise e-mail system, and to a subscribers list maintained by the editor, including Lane Community College Board of Education members. The newsletter is not published on the Web, nor printed.
Submission instructions. E-mail submissions to weekly@lanecc.edu by noon of the day before publication. Do not e-mail the editor personally. Submissions cannot be taken over the telephone or in person. Include your name, department, and e-mail or phone. Items will be attributed to the contributor unless otherwise indicated.
For events and trainings, submit a title, date and link to the online Lane Events Calendar. Be sure to copy the correct URL—see instructions at WebViewer Event links for the Weekly If you do not have requestor access to enter events on the Calendar, e-mail R25 Scheduling. If you need assistance or training in learning to use the Calendar, contact Michael Levick.
Content. Content is subject to the editor's discretion in determining what is of interest to the college community and is for the good of the college. Content includes:
- news and announcements;
- events by title, date and link to the online Lane Events Calendar;
- trainings by title, date, and link to the online Lane Events Calendar;
- job openings at the college, submitted by or through Human Resources;
- ads, a job benefit, free and available only to employees, retirees or board members.
Illness and memorial notices must be submitted or approved by a family member or close friend or co-worker. Prohibited are political advocacy, corporate or for-profit business ads, and personals ads.
All items will be published once and may be repeated once upon contributor request, subject to the editor’s discretion. Jobs are published until closing dates.
Style. Bulletin-style layout is used. Text may be edited for brevity and Associated Press style. Formatting is limited due to incompatibility between different e-mail programs, browsers, and computer systems.
