The college issues payroll checks on a semi-monthly basis. The designated payroll dates are the 10th and the 25th of each month. Payroll advances on dates other than the 10th and the 25th of each month are specifically not allowed except under emergency circumstances. Emergency payroll advances are extended as a privilege and are limited to no more than two per fiscal year per employee. A written request for an emergency payroll advance must be submitted to Human Resources. Emergency payroll advances may only be authorized by the Executive Director for Human Resources. Emergency payroll advances will only be authorized for extraordinary circumstances.
If the employee is paid from an Individual Time Report, a copy of the current month's report must be attached to the Payroll Advance Form. The supervisor's signature is required on the individual time report to certify that the employee has worked the hours indicated.
If the employee is paid a regular monthly salary, the payroll advance request is submitted directly to Human Resources without attachments. The emergency paycheck will be mailed by College Finance to the address indicated on the payroll advance request. Payroll advance forms are available in Human Resources. Questions about the emergency advance payroll process should be referred to a Human Resources representative. |
