The purpose of this procedure is to provide all College staff with information about the location and nature of telephone services on Lane campuses, switchboard hours of operation, contact information and process for service requests and trouble reporting.



The college has a NEC Telephone System that serves the Main Campus, Downtown Center, Flight Technology, LCC at Cottage Grove, LCC at Florence and the Wildish Building.  All telephones have direct dial numbers, but you may call the Main College number for information or assistance at (541) 463-3000.  A list of all college telephone numbers can be found in the college staff directory available through Marketing & Publications at (541) 463-5889.   The staff directory also contains specific information about the use of the college's telephone system.

Coin-operated telephones and telephones for free local calls are located at numerous places on campuses for use by students and the public.


The college switchboard is located in Building #7.  A switchboard operator is on duty Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The switchboard operator is available for assistance with telephone numbers and for directing the public to correct departments and locations..

To Order New Telephone or Voicemail Service, or Make Changes to Existing Service

Telephone Service - A request to add new telephone service or make changes to existing service may be made by completing an Inter-Campus Order Form and sending it to the Telecommunications office. Please make sure the order includes the name of the person who will be using this service.  This information will be forwarded on to the Switchboard for their master directory.
Voicemail Service - A request for new voicemail or changes to existing voicemail can be requested from your department's office by e-mail to the Telecommunications office. (Voicemail services are for current LCC employees only).

To Report Telephone Trouble 

In case of a telephone problem, call the Telecommunications office at (541) 463-5565 and describe the problem.  Do not call the telephone company!   The Telecommunications office can handle most issues, and calls to the telephone company could result in unwarranted charges to the department that placed the call.

Any telephone problem that occurs after hours and during weekends should be reported to Public Safety at (541) 463-5558 or (541) 942-6455.

Department Telephone Billing 

The Telecommunications office processes telephone service billings for each department.  Billings are sent to each department monthly and appear in the departmental expenditure report.

Cell Phones, Pagers & Telephone Calling Cards 

Information on cell phones, pagers & telephone calling cards (for college use only) may be obtained by calling the Telecommunications office at (541) 463-5565.
