Lane Weekly is the official employee newsletter of Lane Community College. Its purpose is to provide news and information to help employees fulfill the college vision, mission, core values, and strategic directions. Employees should review each issue to stay informed of college business, policies, news, and events.
Lane Weekly is e-mailed Tuesdays unless otherwise announced to the LCC Employees list in the GroupWise system maintained by Information Technology. The editor also maintains a separate subscribers list including college board members. The newsletter is not printed or published online.
Content includes events, news and announcements, trainings, college job openings, and employee ads.
Ads are considered a job benefit and are free and available only to employees. Ads will be published twice and may be repeated up to four times per term upon contributor request. The Weekly cannot publish corporate or for-profit business ads but employees may recommend a service provider, using their own name and number as a contact. Personals ads cannot be published.
Illness or memorial notices must be approved by a family member or close friend or co-worker.
Prohibited are items of political advocacy, corporate or for-profit business ads, and personals ads.
Content is subject to the editor's discretion in determining what is of interest to the college community and is for the good of the college.
Submissions should be concise and written according to the Writer's Style Guide for Lane Community College. Text will be edited for brevity and style. Formatting such as boldface or tabbing is prohibited due to incompatibilities between e-mail programs, browsers, and computer systems.
Send submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org. Do not e-mail the editor personally. Submissions cannot be taken over the telephone or in person. Include your name, department, and e-mail or phone. Submissions will be attributed to the contributor unless otherwise indicated. Deadline is noon of the working day prior to the publication date.
