Early Childhood Education - Application Information
- Apply for admission to Lane. Refer to Getting Started at Lane as well as Enrollment Services.
- Complete the testing process for new students.
- Submit transcripts of previous college and/or high school courses.

- After new student testing is completed you will be given information regarding Student Orientation and Registration (SOAR).

- Arrange for a state required criminal records check.
- STUDENTS MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN LAB UNTIL THE CHECK IS COMPLETE. It may take up to three months for the check to be done. Currently we are getting them back in about 2 weeks, but busy times for the state slow this process down.
- If you have lived out of the state of Oregon any time during the last three years, an FBI check is also required. Contact Michel Ronning (541) 463-3522 or stop by the main office in building 24 (the child care complex) to pick up forms. The fee is to be paid by check to the address on the form provided to you. Cost is $3.00 for the state check. Following the state check, individuals may have to pay an additional $62.00 if an FBI check is required. If the FBI check is needed, fingerprinting must also be done. Arrangements can be made by Michel Ronning to have the fingerprinting done by Lane Community College Security.

- Be aware that these credentials and certifications take some time, please plan ahead.
- Students must meet minimum requirements in order to be accepted into the Early Childhood Program. You must have a minimum scores on the Reading Test and Writing Test. Provisional acceptance will be granted to students who do not meet the minimum requirements. The determining factor will be demonstration of abilities based on the college placement tests and application materials. A program of study for provisional acceptance will include support courses in addition to the required curriculum course work. Support courses are in the areas of reading and writing and are designed to increase success of the required curriculum. Individual schedules will be discussed at your intake interview.
