Lane’s Extended Learning Department offers a wide variety of career training, professional development, and personal enrichment classes. Extended Learning classes and trainings are perfect if you want to quickly and affordably gain knowledge, skills, or experience, but may not want to pursue a credit-bearing degree.

How and When to Register

Registration for most classes and trainings takes place online through our registration platforms, although you can also register over the phone. Registration open dates are listed below. Note that registration for our Online classes and trainings is always open/active.

Pro tip! Make sure you get into the class you want! Register for classes as soon as registration opens, or a minimum of five  business days prior to the class start date. Some of our most popular, in-demand classes and trainings fill very quickly, sometimes within hours of registration opening.

Scholarships Available to all Students

Extended Learning Education Assistance Awards

A limited number of $50 to $100 Assistance Awards are available for those pursuing classes through Extended Learning and the Senior Programming. To apply:

  • Create your profile in our registration system if you don't already have one.
  • Complete the application form. Email your completed form to ceinfo@lanecc.edu
  • Assistance Awards are applied to your User Profile as a credit voucher and are available on your account for two (2) years after dispersed.
  • Assistance Awards can only be used for Extended Learning non-credit course fees. Awards are non-transferrable and non-renewable. They cannot be applied to another account, exchanged or refunded, and are not eligible for extensions.

Applications will be reviewed and awarded by committee. If awarded you will be notified by email and funds will be made available within 30 days of notification.
