Our Mission Paw Print

The LCC Animal Support Committee is a non-profit volunteer organization based upon the belief of humane and respectful treatment of all animals. In addition to transporting injured wildlife to registered wildlife rehabilitation centers, our primary mission is the care and control of the feral cats on the main campus.

We follow the proven international guidelines of the TNR (trap/neuter/return) method as set forth for the care, control and stabilization of feral cats. This method has been successful throughout the United States, on campuses such as, University of Texas at Austin, University of California at Berkley, University of Washington and Stanford University as well as throughout Britain.

We believe that the example we set with our humane approach is good for the animals, the college, and the community.

Please Note: We also take care of any “drop off” animals, mostly cats, found on campus. We are required to take these cats to a veterinarian and have them tested for FIV/FeLV, spayed or neutered if necessary, and vaccinated before we can find homes for them.

Although we receive a great professional discount from the vet, the cost of dealing with numerous dropped off animals and a litter of feral kittens already this calendar year has depleted the Committee’s limited resources. We are in desperate need of any donation you can give!

Donations may be made through the Foundation to the ASC account or directly to Kirsa Whedon or Jamie Kelsch .
