2007 Lane Community College
Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition

March 31st - June 16th 2007

Call to Artists:

Lane Community College is accepting submissions from sculptors to participate in the 2006 Pacific Northwest Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition. Fifteen works will be selected for exhibition to take place throughout the 2007 spring term, showcasing the Eugene Oregon campus. Lane Community College may use this exhibition to select or commission a sculpture for purchase.

Eligibility:

  • Sculptors living in the Pacific Northwest are eligible.
  • Entries must be of sound, safe construction, suitable for outdoor display, able to be secured and maintenance-free for the duration of the exhibition. Sculpture must be delivered to LCC campus installation ready.

Instructions:

  • Artists will be selected from a review of slides (maximum 3 sculptures) or digital media of representative examples of the artist's work. Entrants may submit multiple images of three-dimensional work. Submitted slides must be 35mm plastic mounts. The slides must be able to fit into an 80 carousel slide tray. Slides must be clearly marked on the front with artists name; title, dimensions, arrow indicating top and number as listed on entry form.

  • Please include SASE with your application for return of slides.

Selection Process:

  • L.C.C. Campus Artwork Committee will select Works. Artists will be selected from a review of slides (maximum 3 sculptures) or digital media of representative examples of the artist's work. Jurying of existing work will be done by slides and digital media. Slides or digital media of existing work must accompany all proposals for new work.

Details:

  • LCC will provide insurance during the exhibition. The amount of coverage will be limited to the repair or replacement value, as stated by the artist on the application form, in advance of the exhibition.
  • Artist will receive a $200 honorarium to help with transportation costs.
  • A color catalogue and walking map will be produced ..
  • Exhibited works available for sale will be sold at the price indicated on the entry form. A commission of 10% will be retained for each work sold during the exhibition. Works not for sale should be listed"NFS", but a value must be stated for insurance purposes.
  • LCC will provide equipment necessary for installation i.e. crane, electricity... Please make specific needs known prior to installation date.

Reception:

  • A reception will be held .. Artists wishing to attend the reception are responsible for their own transportation and lodging, unless other arrangements can be made. Artists are encouraged to participate if possible.

Calendar:

  • Deadline for Entries is October 31st 2006. Entry forms and images must be postmarked by this date.
  • Notification of selected works: November 15th 2006. Notification of selected and declined artwork shall be made as quickly as possible following the jurying of work. This shall take place no later than December 1st .
  • Installation of Sculpture: March 31st 2007. Installation will take place from 10-3 on this date. Arrangements and details will be made with each selected artist prior to the install date. Work should be delivered to the LCC Campus Main entrance, 4000 East 30th Ave. Eugene , OR .
  • Reception To be held Friday May 4th from 5 to 8pm
  • Takedown and Pick-up of work: June 16th 2007. . Takedown will occur from 10-3 on this date. Arrangements and details will be made with each selected artist prior to the takedown date.
