Learn the aspects of a highly skilled occupation through on-the-job training and related instruction. Benefits include paid employment during training, excellent wages and benefits, life-long learning and advancement opportunities in a variety of trade careers.
Getting Started In Apprenticeship...
- Contact trade coordinator for trade of interest.
- Compile portfolio documentation required for program entry:
- High school diploma (2.0 GPA) or GED (GED score of 255/2300)
- Valid driver's license
- College degree
- Public service (Peace Corps, Vista, National Guard, Reserves)
- Military service (Active duty, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard)
- Educational background (high school or college level): Algebra I & II, Industrial Arts classes
- Prior experience
- Acquire advanced placement by completion of a variety of college courses such as:
- Trade Skills Fundamentals, Residential Wiring, Construction Technology classes, Electrical Theory, Electronics, Blueprint Reading, Geometry, Trigonometry, Drafting/CAD, Welding, CPR/First Aid, Computer classes
- Note: Confirm points status with trade coordinator
