GED (General Educational Development) Lane's GED Preparation Program prepares students to pass the GED exam. The GED gives those who did not graduate from high school the opportunity to earn a high school equivalency certificate. Recognized nationwide by employers and educators, the GED certificate has increased education and employment opportunities for millions of adults since 1942. New GED preparation students must attend an orientation session to determine readiness and assess particular areas of needed improvement. Once you enroll in the GED preparation program, you will receive targeted instruction in each of the five subjects covered by the GED test: reading, writing, science, social studies, and math. In addition, GED preparation students have the opportunity to take official GED practice tests. Graduates of the GED preparation program are honored at the annual college graduation ceremony and may apply for a tuition waiver and scholarships (subject to eligibility requirements). Teen GED Option Program - Teens 16-17 years of age who are referred by or released from their local high school and who read at a secondary level are eligible for this program.
